One year on...

In February 2023, I relocated Seam Haberdashery from Whimple to Topsham and still can't quite come to terms with owning and running a shop in such a beautiful part of the world.

To be honest, this past year has flown by and I still can't believe how quickly a year passes.

Working in Topsham and meeting wonderful new people has been the highlight of the year for me. I have also met many other hardworking and inspiring traders who constantly put so much effort into keeing Topsham full of independent shops. In our current climate, where retail is struggling on most high streets, it's been great to see many of my customers making a real effort to visit me throughout the year, and I am always grateful for their support.

I am looking forward to the new year and the longer days are always a time for new optimism. The arrival of Spring will bring a chance to work with exciting new yarns and fabric which are due to arrive shortly. Currently, all the new fabric and patterns are coming into stock from Merchant and Mills, and this year they are expanding their range of notions which are great to work with and just beautiful to look at!!

I also have new British hand-dyed yarns currently being dyed by British independent dyers, so there will be different colourful textiles available for you to view and get inspired by for your new projects.

I look forward to seeing all my customers again in the New Year and meeting many more new makers and designers.
