Easter and Spring for me means spending lots of time in the garden, the longer days mean I get home in time to sit in the garden with a cup of coffee or quietly weed the garden listening to birdsong or church bells, oh and my husband putting up his little greenhouse and planting his vegetable seeds.

I'm writing this piece on Good Friday and it's raining outside which means my Easter Sunday may be sent indoors reading books and journals and of course knitting. I'm still enjoying reading through the Laine Winter 2025 issues. My daughter has marked the Cora Vest by Pablo Aneiros as her latest request and I am eyeing up the Rose and Pistachio cookies and thinking about the Snowfield Jumper by Hiromi Nagasawa for myself. I think by the time I get to finishing it it will be Winter again! Although I am reading the Winter issue of the Laine magazine the Spring edition is out and the Summer issue is about to arrive in the shop, If you have not read theses magazines before, I would strongly recommend a look. They contain knitting patterns and recipes as well as inspiration from yarns shops across the world. Give me a few weeks and I will upload books and journals onto my website for you to order.

With the approach of warmer days and fingers crossed more sunshine, many of you start to plan your summer wardrobe and Merchant and Mills are introducing many Linens and Indian cottons to their collection. I am in the process of uploading new fabric every week to the website so you can order fabric and patterns online as well as popping into the shop.

I hope you enjoy your Easter break and get some quiet time to yourself or time with your family in the garden. Hopefully the sun will shine...
