Learn how to draw with the machine and embellish fabric using hand embroidery skills and stitches.
DETAILS: In these classes you will be able to mix print and sewing skills using both machine embroidery and hand embroidery to develop a range of samples that could be used to make cushions, accessories or garments. I will be there to support you weather your are a total beginner or you want to become more ambitious with your skills and techniques as an improver. All sessions will give you the opportunity to work at your own pace and share skills in a relaxed environment. The aim of these classes is for you to gain essential skills and confidence in decorative textiles such as print and embellishment of fabric using sewing and hand embroidery skills. You will get the choice of working with a wide range of threads and fabrics, including dissolvable fabric and Bondaweb. The aim of the sessions is to have fun with a wide range of techniques which you could adopt for future projects of your own.
WHAT’S INCLUDED? All resources including sewing machine, print and embroidery threads as well as fabric will be provided for you to create samples for future projects.
TUTOR: Michelle is an experienced tutor and has been lecturing in fashion and textiles for 27 years. She has an Honours Degree in Fashion Design from Ravensbourne College of Art and Design and holds a PGCE from the University of Exeter.
REFRESHMENTS: Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided at each session.
